: What is a labradoodle? I have a husband who says he is allergic and a daughter with asthma. My daughter wants a puppy and a labradoodle sounds interesting. Is it a labradore + poodle? I'd be interested in knowing where to find one.

A Labradoodle is a wonderful combination of a labradore and a poodle. Ours is Chocolate Male purchased from a family a year and a half ago. The mother was a female black standard Poodle and the father was a chocolate lab. "Charlie" is a fantastic family dog. He has all of the patience of a lab and the smarts and non shedding coat of a poodle. He is currently 57 pounds with mixed features of both. Long poodle legs with a lab face and probably a mix of both bodies, not too slim but not real barrel chested. He was very easily trained and is very gentle with our two small children and all of the neighbor children. I would highly recommend the breed but unfortunatly breeders are hard to find. We found "Charlie" by pure luck and his mom was fixed after the litter he was in. I hope that more legitimate breeders will be interested in this great dog. Good Luck.
